Our idea is pretty simple. We want to give kids help where they need it – in the palm of their hands – or very nearby!

Handy Spelling organises spelling and grammar to make literacy easier. Our products are based on years of teaching children who’ve needed help with the tricky English language. Each product is designed to be clear, colourful, joyful and useful.

Whether a child is dyslexic, learning English as a foreign language or simply hasn’t yet mastered spelling, Handy products give an instant, visual reminder of the most frequently confused words. We know confidence in writing improves when children aren’t worrying about their spelling.

We are Sally and Maggie. Between us we have over 40 years of experience in education and design. Sally teaches spelling to groups and coaches teachers how to make kids excited about spelling. Maggie practises and teaches communication design. More importantly, we are both mums of dyslexic kids and know firsthand how Handy products can help.

Our Handy character has been designed to make learning not just clear and fun but memorable too. All products use a dyslexia friendly font and layout, and every Handy pencil works for left and right-handed kids.
